New Event Platform Launching September 16
Important Updates on Calendar Submissions—What You Need to Know

Big changes are coming to how you submit events to the Explore Asheville Event Calendar. Starting September 16, you'll use a new platform for event submissions.

Key changes:
👨‍💻 New login: You'll make a new login on a new platform, only for events
🌐 Partner Portal: Will no longer handle events after September 15
🔁 Data transfer: Previously submitted events will auto-transfer to new system

What's new:
📲 Pre-fill events using Facebook
🎟️ Eventbrite sync automatically submits partners' events
💾 Save event templates for quick
submissions

Timeline:
Sept. 15: Last day to submit/edit events in the current system or form
Sept. 16: New platform goes live; you’ll receive instructions via email

The Partner Portal will still manage your business listings, coupons, and other partner services—but not events. Watch out for our September 16 email which will include full details on the new event submission process.

Update your amenities—like search filters, amenities help visitors find your business.

Update your listing description—make sure you're speaking directly to your audience. 

Add diversity designations—help visitors support diverse businesses in our community.

Ensure your hours are up to date—make sure you've updated your seasonal hours.

Online Application Portal Goes Live September 23

The application portal for the Festivals & Cultural Events Support Fund is set to open September 23. Designed to support the cultural identity of Buncombe County and contribute to the long-term sustainability of the area’s festivals and cultural events, this program offers grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 for events that engage both residents and visitors.
