In case you missed it, Explore Asheville recently expanded its event calendar offerings, giving partners more ways to promote events beyond the main visitor-facing calendar.

New Ways to Promote Your Events

We now have three distinct event calendars, designed to help your events reach the right audience. In addition to promoting visitor-friendly events, partners can now feature community-focused and industry events on their own dedicated calendars:

For Locals/Community Calendar
Share fundraisers, neighborhood gatherings, meet-ups, and community-focused events directly with residents.

Travel and Hospitality Industry Calendar
Promote industry events, educational sessions, webinars, and networking opportunities to Buncombe County travel and hospitality professionals.

Visitor/Main Event Calendar
The main calendar continues to feature visitor-friendly events, reaching 1.6+ million annual visitors who use this resource to plan their visit to Buncombe County.

Tagging Your Events

Proper tagging ensures your event appears on the right calendar:

• “Community Events” tag: for events open to both residents and visitors (appears on both Community and Main/Leisure calendars)
• “For Locals” tag: for residents-only events (appears only on the Community Calendar)
• “Industry Events” tag: for travel and hospitality industry events (appears only on the Industry Calendar)
• All other tags: for visitor/main calendar
