Over the life of the Tourism Product Development Fund (#TPDF), Explore Asheville and the BCTDA have invested more than $6 million in creative spaces including Center for Craft, Wortham Center for the Performing Arts, Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center, Asheville Art Museum, LEAF Global Arts Center, Ymi Cultural Center Inc and more. That also includes the newly completed rehearsal space at the Asheville Community Theatre; creating more rehearsal space frees up their main stage for more performances for artists to be employed and for audiences to enjoy! Thank you, ArtsAVL, for profiling this creative space, which opens up new opportunities for our performing arts community! https://lnkd.in/efR6Thfn

Explore Asheville is committed to practicing and promoting safe and responsible travel and we believe that starts in our own backyard. Thank you to our incredible industry partners who joined us for the inaugural Explore Asheville Travel & Hospitality Earth Day Cleanup this past Monday! Nearly 100 volunteers took to the streets across 5 neighborhoods on Earth Day, collecting over 460 pounds of trash- what an accomplishment! We couldn't have done this without the support of Asheville GreenWorks and RiverLink Inc., as well as our host sites Embassy Suites by Hilton Asheville Downtown, Wrong Way River Lodge & Cabins, Burial Beer Co., Cellarest Beer Project, and The Radical - thank you so much! We can't wait to do this all again next year!

Yesterday, the #BCTDA Board of Directors approved nearly $10 million of new investment in a dozen tourism-related capital projects to benefit residents and visitors! The Legacy Investment from Tourism (#LIFT) Fund expands the Tourism Development Authority’s ability to invest in transformative community projects and allows for wider uses of the fund to collaborate with non-profit and municipal partners. The projects approved reflect the diversity of our community and dispersal throughout Buncombe County. Congratulations to the 2024 LIFT Fund recipients: Asheville Museum of Science, Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, Black Wall Street AVL, City of Asheville, Hood Huggers Foundation, Media Arts Project, RiverLink Inc., SWANNANOA VALLEY ART LEAGUE and Red House Gallery, and UNIVERSITY BOTANICAL GARDENS AT ASHEVILLE INC https://lnkd.in/ezVmcMPV

Buncombe County-based non-profit and government organizations are invited to apply for the 2024 Tourism Product Development Fund (TPDF) cycle. #TPDF was created to provide financial assistance through grants, loan guarantees, or pledges of debt service to major tourism capital projects that will increase patronage of lodging properties and further economic development in Buncombe County. Since the fund’s inception in 2001, the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority (#BCTDA) has provided more than $86 million through 64 investments in 41 community projects. Funded projects have included support for greenways, parks, public art, sports and recreation facilities, cultural heritage institutions, and other family attractions The Tourism Product Development Fund is derived from one-third of the lodging tax paid by visitors who stay overnight in Buncombe County in commercial lodging facilities, including hotels, vacation rentals, and bed-and-breakfast inns. The BCTDA estimates that $9 million will be available for TPDF investments this year. Learn more about TPDF and apply for the first phase here: https://lnkd.in/eWjGYsUa
